The Sober Grad Committee will offer slightly-used formal and semi-formal dresses at discount prices to raise funds for their safe and sober after graduation celebration.
The fundraiser will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, in the Sierra High School Drama Room just in time for prom and 8th grade graduation. Sierra High School is located at 1700 Thomas Street.
“This is a win/win situation for both parties,” said coordinator, Sharon Amick. “People who donate a dress can either get 40% of whatever their dress sells for or donate the entire sale price to the Sober Grad Committee fundraiser and have a 100% tax write-off.”
Kelsey Amick, a SHS senior who is helping her mom with the fundraiser said she’s donating a dress and will put the money from the sale toward the purchase of a new dress for this year’s prom.
“This is a great way to help someone else afford prom and make a little money too,” said Kelsey.
Dress donations may be dropped off, until the event date, at the following locations:
•Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Edward Jones Investments, 1144 S. Main St., Manteca (next to Dairy Queen).
•Monday-Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. at 1257 Burgundy Lane, Manteca.
•Sunday 12 to 3 p.m. at 1181 Blue Teal Court, Manteca.
If none of the above times fit your schedule, contact Sharon Amick at 815-5590 or Dodie Goulart at 825-7098 to make other arrangements.
