Edwin Frank Wertman was born December 22, 1925, in Berkeley, CA.  He was the only child born to his late parents Ed and Edna Wertman.

Ed lived in the Bay area for 60 years before moving to the Tracy area where he has lived for the past 25 years.  He graduated from Berkeley High School where he met the absolute love of his life, the beautiful Margaret Hynes.

He served honorably in World War II as a Merchant Marine.  Upon his dis-charge from the service he returned to Berkeley where he and Margaret were wed.  Ed worked as a butcher and was a member of the Butcher's Union for 25 years.  In 1985 he retired from the meat industry, obtained his real estate brokers license and moved to Tracy, CA. where he opened Ed Wertman Realty.  He served as the President of the Tracy Board of Realtors and was also an original member of Tracy Crime Stoppers.

Ed is survived by his wife Margaret, son Robert (Cynthia), daughter Deborah Vertar, grand-children Jocelynn Wertman (Anthony), Andrew Wertman (Ginny), Michael Vertar (Nicole), Jack Vertar (Erica), and his great grand daughter Morgan Martin, all residents of  Manteca, CA. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Prestige Senior living for taking such wonderful care of him and making his final journey as easy as possible.

Services for our Dad will be private.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, CA.
