Ambassadors In Sport soccer camp returning to Manteca

The Ambassadors In Sport soccer camp returns to Manteca Aug. 2-6 at Northgate Park.
AIS will bring 13 international coaches for an afternoon/evening camp sponsored by Crossroads Grace Community Church.
The five-day camp includes training for goalies, teachings of Biblical principles that affect life and competition, a ball and a shirt for $75 per participant.

RED DEVILS: The Red Devils girls team of the Manteca Futbol Club are looking for competitive soccer players for the NorCal Premier fall and spring leagues as well as the State Cup.
Potential players must be born on Aug. 1, 1998 or after.

SAILING

The Stockton Sailing Club is offering classes for youth ages 9-18.
Classes are four hours a day for one week, Monday through Friday. The program ends on July 29.

ARCHERY SHOOTS

The Manteca Sportsman Club will be holding a 3D archery shoot every Thursday from 4-7:30 p.m. starting June 16. The last shot will be held Aug. 11.
The shoot will consist of at least 14 3D animals which archer will be allowed two shots and each using arrows with field points only. No broadheads are allowed on the range.
The cost to members and the public is $8.
All shooters must register at the clubhouse prior to entering the archery range.

VOLLEYBALL

RC CAMP: Ripon Christian is hosting its 5th Annual Knights Volleyball Summer Camp July 12-15. Each session will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
The camp will be instructed by longtime coaches Tiger and Michelle Shelton, Delta Valley director Richard Chan, former Stanford player Katie Goldhahn and former Delta College head coaches Brad Friesen and Molly Mordaunt.
Incoming ninth graders are encouraged to attend. Cost is $75 per camper, who will each receive a t-shirt.

EU CAMP: East Union High’s volleyball program will be holding its 3rd annual camp Aug. 8 and 9 from 3-5 p.m. at Dalben Center.
Cost to register is $30 per camper. Checks are payable to East Union Volleyball.
Camp brochures must be filled out prior to participation. They are available in the East Union administration office as well as the day of the camp.

EU CONDITIONING: East Union continues conditioning July 12-14 and July 19-21. All practices will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Conditioning does not guarantee a spot on the team but is highly recommended. Attendance will be taken daily, and points given to those who attend. Points will also be including during the tryout process.
All paperwork must be completed to participate in conditioning and tryouts.

CYCLONES 14U: Lady Cyclones Fastpitch of Ripon is having two more tryouts for the upcoming fall season.
They will be held on Monday, July 11, and Wednesday, July 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Ripon High School. The team is looking for a strong pitcher and big hitters.

FOOTBALL

MHS YOUTH CAMP: Manteca High’s football program is putting on a camp for youth players July 16 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Cost is $25 per participant, and checks will not be accepted. T-shirts will be given to each camper.
The camp will be instructed by the Manteca High coaching staff along with current and past players. They will teach offensive and defensive skills as well as nutrition and exercises. Youth football coaches and parents are encouraged to attend.
Football is not required, but campers will been to bring cleats.
Registration will take place at the Walker Vick Fieldhouse near the Guss Schmiedt Field at 7:30. A waiver form must be filled out.

BASEBALL

TRAVEL BALL U14: A 14-under travel ball team based in Manteca will be formed for the summer and fall seasons.
Tryouts will start at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Morenzone Field. The cutoff date is April 30, 2012 for interested players.
Costs for tournament fees and uniform will be split up by the team. The team will play in tournaments on the weekends and will be a part of a weeknight league.

PA CLINIC

The National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers is holding a clinic at De Salle High School in Concord July 16, 9 a.m. to noon.
Oakland Raiders stadium announcer Gary Williams will offer hands-on training behind the mic.
Cost is $55 for adults who register before June 15, and $65 after. The fee for students is $25 for early registration, and $35 for late. NASPAA members will receive a $10 discount.

BMX

The Spreckels Park BMX track in Manteca holds American Bicycle Association BMX-sanctioned races on Sunday afternoons. Signups to participate are from 2-4 p.m. with races beginning soon after.
Required equipment includes a helmet, long sleeves or elbow pads and long pants. Bicycles will go through a safety check at the track.
You must be an ABA member to race. Memberships can be obtained on race day. An annual membership costs $45, and the fee to enter a race is $10. Admission is free for spectators, and the track is open on non-race days from dawn to dusk, free of charge.
