Buffs win third straight in romp over Lathrop

The Manteca sophomore softball team made it three straight in Valley Oak Leauge play Thursday at Lincoln Park with a 9-2 win over Lathrop.

Danielle Deerinck went the distance, striking out four and allowing just two hits.

Dallas Mould led the way at the dish, going 2 for 3 with a double and a triple, while Rochelle Perez was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.

Cassandra Gonzales and Katie Dadasovich provided a run batted in each.

Alicia Erlandson went 1 for 2 with a double for Lathrop (0-4 VOL, 4-8) , and CeCe Lopez was 1 for 2 with an RBI.

Manteca (3-1 VOL) picked up a 13-0 win over Central Valley Tuesday and an 11-8 win over Sonora March 20.


Manteca 4, Ceres 2

Rocio Lopez racked up a hat trick and Rupika Pabla added a fourth in the Manteca win.

Yajaira Hurtado and Joanna Maxwell recorded assists.

Jazmine Lopez and Amara Michaelis combined for 19 saves for the Buffaloes (2-1-1 VOL, 7-1-1).

Sierra 6, Central Valley 0

Up 1-0 at halftime, the T’Wolves (4-0 VOL, 10-1) broke it open in the final 40 minutes.

Stephanie Davis and Ashley Sohal both scored a pair, while Kenisha Gathron and Kelly Paredes added one each.

“We settled down in the second half,” Sierra head coach Joe Pires said. “We got some nice passes and converted on our opportunities.”

Sierra visits Oakdale Tuesday.
