Barn dance
An old-fashioned barn party – complete with dinner, dancing to a live band and lively conversation – is taking place in the Fonseca barn.

Similar bashes conducted in the 1990s were sell-outs well in advance and benefitted a wide array of organizations including Scouting.

This time around the benefactors will be the 1,500 plus kids who are members of the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca/Lathrop.

The barn party billed as a “Hoedown in the Heart of California” takes place Saturday, April 18, at the Fonseca Barn at 22695 S. Airport Way. It features a happy hour from 6 to 7 p.m. with steak dinner served at 7 p.m. Dancing to the band Relic takes place from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The $50 per person ticket includes dinner, dancing, and a champagne toast.

Organizers noted the early spring is the perfect time as the evening weather is “just right for people, good food, good times, and good conversation.”

Toni Raymus and John Coburn are among the organizers of the barn party designed to help keep programs running at the non-profit’s two clubs.
