• Charges were related to child custody: David Blancarte, 48, who was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant March 13, did not have any domestic violence charges associated with the $20,000 contempt of court warrant for his arrest as had been reported in the March 14 edition of the Bulletin.

Police Tuesday clarified that the charges against him involved a contempt of court order for his arrest  associated with  an earlier child custody judgment.

Blancarte had been arrested the day after the story about the reversal of the paralysis in his legs was published, and police recognized there was an active year-old warrant for him in their files.  He was taken into custody that Friday and remained in San Joaquin County Jail four days until he was released by a judge on Monday.

The Manteca Bulletin regrets any inconvenience the story may have caused Mr. Blancarte.

• Group W only playing Saturday: The Bulletin incorrectly stated in the Monday, March 30, edition that Manteca Band Group W will be playing on Sunday at the 13th annual Crossroads Street Fair on Sunday, April 5, at 1 p.m. Because of scheduling conflicts, the band had only agreed to play on Saturday, April 4, at 2 p.m. The Bulletin regrets the error.
