The place to have a blast this Sunday is the Big League Dreams sports complex at Daniels Street just west of Airport Way.

That's where the City of Manteca's Independence Day celebration takes place from 4 to 10:30 p.m.

Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for those 13 to 17 and free for those 12 and under.

The celebration features children's activities, 19 vendor booths, softball tournament, family entertainment, home run derby and the annual fireworks show. Unlimited use wrist bands for jump houses, children's rides and more are $2 apiece for ages 3 to 10.

Entertainment runs the gamut from music and singing to cheer performances and the Manteca Police K-9 demonstrations.

If you've never checked out the BLD complex it is the perfect time to see if you can find photos of friends or neighbors among the crowds in the outfield stands on the six replica fields. Many of the images are of Manteca residents.

The big finale takes place at dusk with the launching of the aerial fireworks show.
