Alumni hoop games coming up for Manteca & EU high schools

4-on-4 Tourney: A 4-on-4 basketball tournament for men aged 19 years and older will be held at the Modesto Court room (2012 McHenry Ave.) in Modesto Nov. 12-13. Cost is $80 per team of 4-6 players. EU-MHS alumni games: The Manteca High and East Union boys basketball programs are hosting alumni games on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Dalben Center. Cost to participate is $25, which includes a t-shirt. Waiver forms must be signed before playing and are available at the door. Three games (4:30 p.m., 5:45, 7) will be set up for teams according to graduation years. Lancer Club: The Lancer Track and Field Club is starting practices for indoor season on Nov. 1 at East Union High. Practices will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. MYSA signups: The Manteca Youth Softball Association is holding signups for players ages 4-12 (13-year-old eighth graders included) on Nov. 5 and 12 at Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Manteca. MYSA representatives will be taking registration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Nov. 16 signup date will follow and will run from 6-8 p.m. For more information, visit

EU clinic/food drive: The 4th Annual East Union softball and Manteca Parks & Recreation Can-Food/Toy Drive takes place Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Northgate Softball Complex. The clinic, open to all ages, runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Donations of non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys is the entry fee. The following items are most needed: can foods of corn, peas, green beans, cranberry sauce, can fruit, pumpkin mix and instant mashed potatoes. SOCCER: The new indoor soccer season is set to start for men’s, women’s and coed leagues. Leagues are available Sunday through Saturday. Delta Valley clinic: Delta Valley Volleyball is donating $5 per participant to the Dig Pink breast cancer awareness program for its Oct. 30 clinic. Delta Valley clinic: Delta Valley Volleyball is holding tryouts for the 2011-12 season on Nov. 13 at its Lodi academy located on 1230 South Central Avenue. Tryout times are as follows: 9 a.m. to noon for ages 17-18, 1-4 p.m. for ages 15-16 and 4:30-7:30 p.m. for ages 12-14. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tryout time.
