Thunder plan fireworks show inside Arena tonight

STOCKTON – The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL “Award of Excellence,” is scheduled to host a special New Year’s Eve Extravaganza tonight at Stockton Arena in a game against the Ontario Reign at 7:30 p.m.

A night to provide fans and families of all ages with an ideal environment to celebrate the turn of the calendar into 2012, tickets are on sale for as low as $7 per seat and are available at or the Stockton Arena Ticket Office.

Immediately following the game, fans are invited to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display inside Stockton Arena. 

The post game fireworks show will feature a captivating and high impact pyrotechnics display, designed specifically for indoor performance by Fireworks & Stage FX America Inc., who have served the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and National Basketball Association’s Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors.

Averaging up to 2,000 shows per year, Fireworks & Stage FX America Inc. have performed in the past at Super Bowl XXXVII, Sea World, games in the National Football League and arenafootball2 for the Stockton Lightning.

“The year of 2011 has been great for the Thunder and our fans so we thought it would be very appropriate to end the year with a real bang,” said Thunder president Dan Chapman.  “This indoor fireworks show will be the first one we have ever done in team history and it promises to be an exciting end to an exciting year.  It will truly be something to see and something fans young and old alike will enjoy.”
