Allene B. Champie

Allene B. Champie, 75, entered into rest on, April 6, 2009 in Stockton, California. She was born on, June 19, 1933 in Pittsburg, California to Mr. & Mrs. Frederick & Elizabeth Gower. She joins her parents and well as two brothers in heaven; William Gower and Frederick Gower.
Mrs. Champie is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Martin Champie; her brother Gwynne (Curly) Gower of Ripon, and daughters Georgia Dunstan of Manteca, Stefanie Champie of Tracy, Rebecca Champie of Manteca, Laura Champie of Mississippi, Kimberly Dauzat of Stockton, and Marcie Fitzsimmons of Clayton. In addition she is survived by her four sons, Bruce Champie of Garberville, Paul Champie of Garberville, John Champie of San Geronimo, Jack Champie of San Rafael, and daughter Christine Champion of  San Geronimo.  She was blessed with many grandchildren; Andrea, Jason, Christy, Jamie, Jennifer, Jessica, James, Evan, Sara, Chance, Melissa, Caity, Daniel, Miles, Mike, Brittney, Reyna, Kyle, Felipe, Kasey, Molly, Dawn,  and 9 great-grandchildren.    
Allene retired in 1995 after 20 years of service as a Medical Records Technician at the Santa Rita Correctional Institute. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Allene’s passion was soccer. The majority of her life was spent coaching soccer .  She also played on a Manteca Adult Soccer team.  She continued to play up until  age 60.
Allene was very creative and loved to paint and sew. She enjoyed boating and never missed an opportunity to water ski. Flowers always brightened Allene’s day and roses were her favorite. She will be remembered as a beautiful person who was an amazing lady on the inside as well as on the outside. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed.
Mrs. Champie’s services are being handled by P. L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 24, at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St., Manteca.
