MFWC places three Saturday at Golden Valley

MERCED — The Manteca Freestyle Wrestling Club placed three grapplers Saturday at the Merced Tournament hosted by Golden Valley High.

Jaysen Reindel finished first overall in the intermediate 95-pound weight class, and Ely Willis finished runner-up at 100 pounds in the novice division.

James Vega took runner-up in the Cadet 135-pound division.

The freestyle tournament featured wrestlers from Merced, Turlock, Oakdale, Ceres, Escalon and Ripon, among others.

The MFWC meets Mondays and Wednesdays at East Union High.

High school wrestlers practice from 4:30 to 6 p.m., while youth grapplers take the mat from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
