NEW BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ALBUM OUT MARCH 6: NEW YORK (AP) — Bruce Springsteen's new album, "Wrecking Ball," will be out March 6, and he's just released a new single, "We Take Care of Our Own."

Although the song is musically upbeat, it references the current struggles of America with lyrics like, "Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea?"

Other songs on the 11-track album include "Death to My Hometown," ''This Depression" and "Easy Money."

The announcement was made Thursday morning on the rocker's website.

Springsteen's manager, Jon Landau, who is also the executive producer of the album, calls the writing on the disc "some of the best of his career."

"Wrecking Ball" is Springsteen's 17th album and the first since the death of E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons last year. Springsteen and the band are due to go on tour this year, but it hasn't been revealed who may step in for Clemons.

RIHANNA, COLDPLAY TO PERFORM TOGETHER AT GRAMMYS: NEW YORK (AP) — Rihanna and Coldplay sing together on the group's latest album, and they'll do so again at next month's Grammy Awards.

Rihanna, who is nominated for four Grammys including album of the year for "Loud," tweeted the news to her followers Wednesday night, calling it "BONKERS."

Coldplay is up for three awards.

Paul McCartney was announced Thursday by The Recording Academy as another performer on the Feb. 12 broadcast.

McCartney is being honored during Grammy week as the MusiCares person of the year. His new album, "Kisses on the Bottom," will be released Feb. 7.

LL Cool J will host the show, to be broadcast on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Other performers include the Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Jason Aldean.

MICHELLE OBAMA HEADING TO LENO'S 'TONIGHT SHOW': BURBANK  (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama is headed to Jay Leno's stage later this month.

NBC announced Thursday that the first lady will appear on "The Tonight Show" on Jan. 31, where she's expected to talk about life in the White House, her fitness initiative for children and her upcoming book about the White House kitchen garden.

She was a guest on the program in 2008 when her husband was a candidate and also appeared via satellite hookup from the White House on "The Jay Leno Show" in 2009, the host's perch before returning to "The Tonight Show."
