Dorothy Jane Simpson

Dorothy is now home with the Lord after a long & blessed life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 yrs William G. Simpson (1977). She is survived by daughter Linda Snyder of Stockton. Son, Tim Simpson of Issaquah Washington & his wife Kim; granddaughter Romey Aksland of Manteca & her husband Jeff; grandsons Matthew Snyder Sr. of Manteca & David Simpson of Issaquah Washington; great-great-grandchildren Matthew Snyder Jr. Zakk Snyder, Lauren Taylor, Justin Taylor & Hanna Grace Aksland of Manteca and Isaac Simpson of Issaquah Washington; and all of her neighbors whom she loved on Alder Street in Stockton.

Her favorite hobbies were crocheting & playing solitaire. Dorothy’s favorite holiday was Christmas. Every Christmas Eve she would prepare a beautiful meal for her family complete with homemade fudge & cookies.

Dorothy was born to Clyde & Grace Pugh in Steubenville, Ohio. She married William G Simpson January 24, 1946. They moved to Ontario California in 1947 where they resided for 16 years before moving to Northern California. She worked at Macy’s as head cashier for many years. She was a bookkeeper for Yellow Cab in Stockton for 5 years. She then became a care provider for the elderly until her own health declined. She lived alone until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and moved in with her daughter Linda who provided her care & support until 2005 when she was admitted to Manteca Care & Rehabilitation where she lived until she succumbed to Alzheimer’s. She will be missed immensely. May she rest in peace.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home will be handling Dorothy’s arrangements. At Dorothy’s request no services will be held. Burial will private in Ontario, California where Dorothy will be laid to rest with her beloved husband. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Dorothy’s name.
