Edna “Jan” Tachara, 84, entered into rest on April 26, 2009 in Copperopolis, California. She was born on October 16, 1924 in Pueblo, Colorado. She joins her son Tom Tachara and her brother Bob Butts in heaven.

Mrs. Tachara is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years Donald Tachara of Copperopolis. Her children are Randy Rowe and wife Lynn of Madera and Cindy Zontek and husband Jim of Escalon. She was blessed by six grandchildren; Sandy Rowe and husband Darin Frederick of Utah, Luke Rowe and wife Kim of Fresno, Trisha Zontek of Manteca, Brittney Tachara of Manteca, Ashley Zontek of Escalon and Katy Zontek of Escalon. She also has five very special great-grandchildren; Bryanna Rowe of Fresno, Kaylee Rowe of Fresno, Anthony Archuleta of Manteca, Alex Archuleta and Alycia Archuleta of Manteca. She has one brother Orval Butts of Idaho.

Jan was a house mother for over 20 years at the University of California – Davis. She enjoyed going to car shows with her husband Don where they were both members of the Sierra Angels Classic Car Club. She found serenity in her amazing artistic abilities. She often drew portraits of family members which hung in the hall ways of her home. She loved cooking for family and enjoyed family get-togethers where she often tried-out her new recipes. She also found peace in tending to her flowers and yard. She was very good at sewing; her children and grandchildren always knew were to go when they needed a wonderful seamstress. To remember Jan is to remember her by her warm and giving attitude towards others and the love she had for everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed.
