Grange ready for breakfast Feb. 25; VFW sweetheart event on Saturday

RIPON — The Ripon Grange’s 50th Annual Almond Blossom Pancake Breakfast is Saturday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 11 a.m. at the Grange Hall at 827 Ripona Ave.

Advance tickets are $6 for adults or $7 at the door. Tickets for children are $4. 

Tickets are available at The Tank House Gift Shoppe, 132 S. Acacia Ave., Schempers Hardware, and the Ripon Fire Department Monday through Friday.

• VALENTINE’S DINNER-DANCE:  Ripon’s VFW Post 1051 will be holding its annual Sweethearts dinner & dance on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Ripon’s VFW Hall, 12455 West Ripon Road. 

A donation of $12 per person at the door, will include a marinated pork loin dinner with all the fixings with dancing to follow.  Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with DJ music starting at 7 p.m.

For Valentine’s Day, take out that special person in your life and invite other family and friends for an enjoyable and inexpensive night of dinner and dancing.  For more information please call 599-6815.

: Park View Elementary School in Ripon is hosting its first Crab Feed Fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Ripon Community Center. It is an adult-only event beginning at 6 p.m. (no host cocktails) with dinner, auction, and dancing following at 7 p.m.  The meal will include salad, bread, pasta, and fresh cracked crab.  Tickets are $45 each or a table of eight for $400 (includes 2 bottles of wine).  Tickets can be purchased at Park View School or by calling/emailing Jeannie Zimmerman at 209-599-6702 or

• AN ENCOUNTER PRAYER CONFERENCE:  Terry Teykl is coming to Ripon to present “An Encounter” prayer conference on Feb. 11.

Teykl has spent his life encouraging and teaching the local church how to develop a passionate and meaningful relationship with God. A former pastor of 28 years, Teykl is now a full-time conference speaker on prayer.  His warm humorous style makes Teykl one of the most sought after speakers and seminar leaders in the country. He has authored an entire line of prayer resources that make it possible for churches to build prayer into the everyday life of their congregations.

The Feb., 11 event is hosted by the First Christian Reformed Church at 305 Boesch Drive in Ripon. It starts at 9 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.  Lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be included.  Cost is $25 at the door.  Registration forms are available at the church office or email Carla @ to request a form.
