The Valley Lode District Garden Cubs will meet on Valentine’s Day at the Chez Shari restaurant in the Manteca Golf Course on North Union Road. Playing host to this district meeting are the members of the Manteca Garden Club.

The weeks following this event will have the garden club hosting other gardening-related programs that will be open to the public. The topics range from pruning roses and growing vegetables in your back-yard, to orchids and how to grow them.

In March, there will be opportunities for field trips to the San Francisco Flower Show and Bouquet of Art at the De young Museum.

Below is a list of those upcoming events in February and March:

In May, the Manteca Garden Club will host its annual garden tour. This is the club’s biggest single event of the year and the only major fund-raiser. Featured will be about half a dozen home gardens in the area. While the list of the gardens featured is yet to be announced, the club has already announced that the cost for tickets will stay the same - $15 each. Tickets will be available at various local businesses and from garden club members.
