The local retired U.S. Army Warrant Officers Association donated an American flag to the East Union Cemetery on Tuesday.

The Norcal chapter based in Manteca presented Old Glory to the cemetery’s acting manager Bill Good, with President Bill Dekok and fellow officers Harold Hodges and Rocky Wilson orchestrating the low-key event.

“I think we also donated the previous flag,” Wilson said.

The U.S. Army Warrant Officers Association was incorporated as a non-profit group over 30 years ago in Virginia.

Articles of Incorporation include fostering a spirit of patriotism and devotion to duty among members, recommending programs for the improvement of the Army, disseminating professional information among warrant officers, promoting the technical and social welfare of its members, and promoting a spirit of true comradeship among the members.

The local chapter conducts its regular meetings at Perko’s Cafe on East Yosemite Avenue near Highway 99.
