Jenny Ketner tossed a complete-game, six-hitter and struck out seven as the East Union sophomore softball team knocked off Manteca, 7-0, Friday night at Northgate Park.

Ketner went 2 for 4 from the plate, as did Kelsey Emerson (2 doubles) and Jessica Lavoie ( 2 RBIs).

Cassandra Allen was 2 for 2 and Salina Tiscareno went 2 for 3.

Audra Lucky ended the game with a shoestring catch in center and a heads up toss to first to double up a Manteca runner.

“Each girl showed improvement in their own way over the course of the season,” EU skipper Ronnie Tiscareno said. “It’s one of the best teams I’ve ever coached at East Union.”

The Squires finished the season 12-4 in Valley Oak League play, and 20-7 overall.
