Doctors Hospital of Manteca recognized their health care nurses and other staff members Wednesday as part of the National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week.

The staffers were lauded for their continuing drive to provide high quality, compassionate care for the hospital’s patients and their families.

“Our employees are dedicated to providing high quality care for our patients,” hospital spokesman Eric McMurtrey pointed out.  “They make a difference – I’m very proud of the work they do.”

Since 1921 hospitals across the country have been celebrating National Hospital and Healthcare Week and have been inviting their communities to join in to say “thank you” to the many healthcare workers who do provide quality care throughout the country.

“I often hear our employees refer to their role as a calling,” McMurtrey said.  “That feeling is shown in every caring touch and the time they spend listening to our patients.”  He added that the compassion shown by the hospital’s employees continues to inspire him.
