‘The Grapes of Wrath’ on stage at Gallo

MODESTO — Prospect Theater Project and The Gallo Center for the Arts are joining again to bring John Steinbeck’s Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award-winning novel, The Grapes of Wrath, to the Gallo Center stage May 4-5 and 9-13.

The performance of the classic story follows the partnering organizations’ highly successful production of To Kill A Mockingbird which played at the Gallo Center in the 2010/2011 season.

Adapted for the stage by Frank Galati and directed by the Prospect Theater Project’s Artistic Director Jack Souza, The Grapes of Wrath tells the life-affirming story of a Great Depression-era family who overcomes hardships associated with leaving their Oklahoma home in search of a better life in California.

Matinees at 2 p.m.will play on May 9, 10 and 13. Tickets are on sale now and range from $8 to $15. Groups of 15 or more are eligible for a 15% discount. For tickets and more information, visit or call (209) 338-2100.
