John Muir Tour set for May 12

MARIPOSA — The Mariposa County History Center is offering the first “Young John Muir” tour of the season on Saturday, May 12.

This will be a guided bus tour, with Kris Randall sharing Muir’s observations and commentary about the many wondrous sights he discovered while herding sheep from the valley up to the high country. The cost is $40 per person and children 8 and under are $20. The bus will depart from the History Center parking lot at the corner of Highways 49 and 132, promptly at 9 a.m. (check-in begins at 8:30), and will return no later than noon. A snack will be served. Space is limited, with reservations on a first come, first served basis. Call (209) 878-3015, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The next scheduled date will be on June 9 one of the many activities scheduled that day as part of the John Muir Festival.
