Anthony Montanez was the first baby of the New Year to be born at Doctors Hospital Manteca on Jan. 1.

Anthony’s mother is Aracelli Montanez who resides in southeast Stockton.

Anthony tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 12 ounces at 8:10 a.m. on New Year’s Day, according to the RN labor and delivery nurse Melissa Pearson.  He measured 21 and 1/2 inches long.

Pearson said he was not only the first baby but the only baby born the entire day.  Doctors Hospital reportedly delivers some 80 babies a month at their Manteca medical facility.
