Orion T. Myers, 89, entered into rest on Dec. 30 in Modesto.

He was born on June 28, 1919 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Granville and Grace Myers. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Gerald Myers.

Orion is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Jewell Myers; and children Steven Myers and wife Rosie of Modesto and Martin Myers and wife Joyce of Tracy and Brother; Kenneth Myers of Ok. He was also blessed by eight grandchildren Lisa Lawrence, Julie Beebe, Charles Myers, Robin McStay, James Myers, Joyanna Myers, Marty Myers, and Lori Nelson;  and 13 great-grandchildren.

Orion was a resident of Manteca from 1954-1973 where he worked for Romero Pontiac and Tradeway Chevrolet as a mechanic. He moved to Sonora in 1973 and resided there for over 30 years. While living in Sonora, Orion owned and operated Myers Liquor and retired in 1988. Most recently he moved to Modesto 5 years ago to be closer to his family. Orion enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and bowling. He was on various bowing leagues in Manteca and Sonora. Orion found peace working with his horses training and riding them. He was very family oriented and enjoyed family get-togethers. He was a very creative man and fixing things was his area of expertise. To remember Orion is to remember him as a good neighbor, a kind soft spoken man who was very generous. He will be deeply missed.
