Tracy Tritons top Dolphins in Mid-Valley dual opener

The Manteca Dolphins opened the Mid-Valley Swim League season with a 1,216-965 loss to the Tracy Tritons at East Union High last Saturday.

Scott Tolman was the Dolphins’ top performer, as he was a part of first-place finishes in five different events in the 13-14 division. He also broke a team record in the 50-yard breaststroke in 30.48 seconds. The old record of 39.57 was set back in 1990. Tolman’s other wins came in the 100 individual medley, 50 butterfly, 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay.

Daniel Calderini (17-18 boys) claimed four individual events: 100 IM, 100 free, 100 back, 50 free. Lane Fishburn (13-14 girls) also scored first-place points in four events: 100 IM, 50 fly, 50 free, 200 free relay.

Giovanni Padilla shined in the 9-10 boys division, winning the 100 IM, 100 free and 50 back.

Other multi-event winners were: Jax Ballard (6-under boys, 25 back, 25 free), Hayden Beier (7-8 boys, 25 back, 25 breast), Emma Ayers (7-8 girls, 25 breast, 100 free relay, 100 medley relay), Delaney Brubaker (7-8 girls, 25 free, 100 free relay, 100 medley relay), Ian Noriega (9-10 boys, 50 breast, 200 medley relay), Jacob Martin (9-10 boys, 50 free, 200 free medley, 200 medley relay) and Austin Welch (13-14 boys, 100 free, 200 free relay, 200 medley relay).

Winning one event each were: Kelly Ball (9-10, 50 fly), Mallory Brubaker (11-12 girls, 100 free), Brooks Cannon (11-12 boys, 50 breast), Vanessa Flores (13-14 girls, 100 free), Jordyn Rich (15-16 girls, 50 back), Skyler Freeman (15-16 girls, 50 breast) and Victoria Ramos (17-18 girls, 50 breast).
