• FIRE HYDRANT VANDALISM: Manteca Firefighters responded to several incidents of hydrants being opened on Sunday, causing flooding to the roadways. Incidents occurred on: North Union Road between Del Webb Boulevard and Shady Pines Street, North Main Street and Birchwood Avenue, and East Louise Avenue and Pestana Avenue. In all incidents, the hydrants were opened at the steamer connections. Firefighters were able to mitigate the hazards by shutting down the hydrants to stop the water flow.
• VEHICLE ACCIDENT – HIGHWAY 99 NORTH OF 120 BYPASS: Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle accident on Northbound Highway 99, north of Highway 120 early Sunday morning. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle rollover with the car on its roof on the side of the freeway. Firefighters performed patient extrication and emergency medical services at the scene, with the patient being transported to a local medical facility.
• FIRE ON DuPONT COURT: Firefighters responded to an outdoor fire on DuPont Court on the evening of May 20. Upon arrival, they found a dumpster fire that was located in a vehicle parking area. Firefighters extinguished the fire containing it to the unit. The cause of the fire was from disposed barbecue briquettes that had been put in the unit.
• HAZARD ON MIKESELL AVENUE: Firefighters were dispatched to a downed tree on Mikesell Avenue on the morning of Wednesday, May 23. Upon arrival, they found a large tree limb resting on telecommunications lines. The weight of the limb had broken a guide wire on the adjacent power pole which was bowed and cracking. Firefighters isolated the area and denied entry until PG&E arrived on the scene.
