Manteca Dolphin Scott Tolman dominated the 13-14 boys division, and the Ripon Sea Lions had four high-point winners en route to a second-place team finish in the Tracy Invitational at West High this past weekend.
The host Tracy Tritons won the invitational title with 1,217 points. Ripon was the runner-up with 1,091.5, and Manteca fifth with 410.5.
Tolman was one of four competitors to rack up 52 points. Only Jordan Shinn (7-8 boys) of the Ceres Dolphins ended up with more, as he amassed 54.
Tolman was a part of first-place finishes in seven of the eight events he participated in. He won the 100-yard freestyle, 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 100 individual medley and 50 backstroke and helped Manteca earn first-place points in the 200 medley and 200 free relays. Tolman settled for second in the 50 free, with Zachary Glidden of Sea Dogs winning the event.
Lane Fishburn was the only other Manteca Dolphin to crack the high-point standings, as she took third with 30 points in the competitive 13-14 girls division. Fishburn was the top finisher in the 100 IM, second in the 50 fly and third in the 100 free. She was also on the second-place 200 medley relay and third-place 200 free relay.
Dolphins who swam their way to top-three finishes in individual events were: Dillan Deleon (6-under boys, 25 breast, second), Emma Ayers (7-8 girls, 25 free, third), Hayden Beier (7-8 boys, 25 back, second), Kelly Ball (9-10 girls, 50 fly, third), Ashlea Green (11-12 girls, 50 back, third), Austin Welch (13-14 boys, 100 free, second) and Victoria Ramos (17-18 girls, 50 fly, second).
Noah Esenwein was Ripon’s top performer. He spearheaded the 9-10 boys division with 52 points, and teammate Matthew Trejo took second with 44.
Fellow Sea Lions Andria Martin (11-12 girls, 48 points), Kaylie Sheaffer (15-16 girls, 47) and Mackenzie Rigney (17-18 girls, 47) also took home high-point awards for their respective divisions.
Scoring in the top three were Jack Gioffre (7-8 boys, second), Dylan Zador (7-8 boys, third), Chloe Winter (11-12 girls, third), Jacob Thompson (11-12 boys, third), Logan Amadon (13-14 girls, second), Alex Durham (15-16 boys, third) and Brad Wilkerson (17-18 boys, second).
