LODI — Car entries are still being accepted for the Classic Car Show & Craft Fair to be held June 30 at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum in Micke Grove Park south of Lodi.

Entry fees for automobiles are $25 per vehicle. Awards will be given for “Best Classic Overall”, “Best of Show”, “People’s Choice”, and “Best Project Car.” Cars can be brought to the museum grounds beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 30. All cars must be parked no later than 9:45 a.m. and must stay parked for the entire show.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and will conclude at 3 p.m. Admission onto the museum grounds is $5 per family. There is an additional $5 parking fee entering Micke Grove Park. But this fee is waived for cars on exhibit with pre-registration.

For more information about the car entries or to enter your car, call Jack Johnson at (209) 369-0727.

This event is the museum’s fundraiser to “Raise the Barn.” The barn is the new educational building planned to supply desperately needed space for the museum’s award-winning youth education programs.

This showcase of classy cars is just part of the action on June 30, and there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

A poker walk will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. among the museum buildings. The cost is $5 per hand. In addition, there will be children’s games, the “Gift Basket Bonanza” prize drawing and “Raise the Barn” t-shirts for sale. Food will be available for purchase from Royce Farms BBQ. Museum docents also will be offering more than 1,000 used books for sale at bargain prices.

The barn is a new museum Docent Council project to construct an educational building as a permanent home for the youth programs including Farm to Fork, Museum Youth Camp, classroom and meeting space, and to help with storage needs and rainy day shelter for the Valley Days and Pioneer School programs.

For more information about the event, call the museum at 331-2055 or 953-3460 or visit the website at sanjoaquinhistory.org.
