The Ripon Babe Ruth senior team is in the middle of a busy stretch.

On Monday, Ripon was divided the team into two and settled for a split with visiting Tracy at Mistlin Sports Park. Tracy scored most of its runs in the first frame and held on to beat Ripon’s White Sox split squad, 15-10. In Game 2, Cory Van Warmerdam struck out 13 in six innings to lead the Ripon Red Sox to a 6-3 victory.

Ripon (13-4) faced the Modesto A’s at Davis Park Tuesday night. It was its sixth game in four days.

Taylor McLaughlin spearheaded the White Sox’s comeback attempt with a 4-for-4 effort that included three RBIs and a double. Josh English finished 3 for 3, and Jason Angelo 3 for 4.

Van Warmerdam shined brightest under the lights in the second game. Tyler Scharnow threw a perfect seventh inning for the save. Offensively, Zach Gase and Nolan Kelley were each 2 for 3, and Elijah English added a triple.

On Sunday, Ripon traveled to Lodi’s Tony Zupo Field and won, 9-2. Lodi jumped out to a two-run lead in the first inning before Ripon answered with nine unanswered.

Mike Leland scattered four hits over the final six innings of the game and retired 11 batters in a row from the fourth to seventh innings.

Zac Carrillo did the most damage offensively, driving in three runs with two doubles while going 2 for 4. Angelo was also 2 for 4, and Scharnow finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
