There is a place where  low- to moderate-income homeowners who are facing shutoff of municipal water for non-payment of bills can turn – Love INC (In the Name of Christ) Manteca.

The non-profit faith-based assistance program has $5,000 available for assistance on a one-time basis up to $100 a month for those whose water service is being threatened to be cutoff for lack of payment.

The $5,000 in the form of a pass through federal Community Development Block Grant was awarded to Love INC for that purpose earlier this month by City Council. It is enough to serve 50 individuals and/or families over the next 11 months.
