JUSTICE WON'T PROSECUTE HOLDER FOR CONTEMPT : WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department declared Friday that Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to withhold information about a bungled gun-tracking operation from Congress does not constitute a crime and he won't be prosecuted for contempt of Congress.

The House voted Thursday afternoon to find Holder in criminal and civil contempt for refusing to turn over the documents. President Barack Obama invoked his executive privilege authority and ordered Holder not to turn over materials about executive branch deliberations and internal recommendations.

In a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, the department said that it will not bring the congressional contempt citation against Holder to a federal grand jury and that it will take no other action to prosecute the attorney general.

STUDENTS SUSPENDED IN NY BUS MONITOR BULLYING : NEW YORK (AP) — Four seventh-grade students from upstate New York who were caught on video mercilessly taunting a 68-year-old bus monitor have received their punishment.

The school system in the Rochester suburb of Greece says it will suspend the middle school students from school and from using regular bus transportation for a year for bullying Karen Klein.

The students will be transferred to a special alternative education program because the district is legally required to give them an education. Each student also will be required to complete 50 hours of community service with senior citizens.

They will be able to reapply to middle school after they complete the discipline.

4 ARRESTED AFTER CALLING NC DEPUTY FOR DRUGS: SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) — Four people have been arrested in North Carolina after they mistakenly called the wrong person about drug purchases.

The man they got was a Rowan County sheriff's deputy.

The Salisbury Post   reported that Deputy Jagger Naves was awakened by four calls to his cell phone around 4 a.m. Monday.

Some of the calls complained about the quantity of drugs they had purchased and wanted him to correct the problem.

Naves arranged to meet two of the callers and later met with two other callers elsewhere. All four were arrested.
