Saturday, June 30

Hilmar – Hilmar Dairy Festival and Fireworks at Hilmar High School; gates open at noon with craft booths, raffles, a parade, the band Threshold, and a little milkman and milkmaid contest. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Free admission.

Sunday, July 1

Oakdale – Woodward Reservoir fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Park will be closed to all in-bound traffic once reaching capacity. $20 per carload of attendees. No personal fireworks allowed.

Tuesday, July 3

Don Pedro Lake – Fireworks on the Water, 9:30 p.m. Hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks, ice cream for sale. $15 admission per carload, arrival before 8 p.m. recommended due to traffic congestion. Swimming, picnicking, boating before fireworks. No personal fireworks allowed.

Gustine – Tractor pull, 5:30 p.m. at Gustine High.

Modesto –  Fireworks following the Modesto Nuts game vs. the Lancaster JetHawks. Game begins at 7:30 p.m., John Thurman Field.

Wednesday, July 4

Atwater – 7 a.m. Run for Independence. 9 a.m. parade, starting at Foster Freeze. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. festival in Ralston Park. Fireworks and concert at Castle Air Base; gates open at 6:30 p.m., with Cynthia Huddleston & The Juke Joint Jokers performing at 8 p.m. Gates close at 9 p.m., when fireworks are expected to begin. Parking at Castle Air Base is $5 per car, guests are advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Gustine – 4th of July Parade at 10:30 a.m., down 5th Street Gustine. Carnival, festival, food and drinks from noon to 4 p.m. at Henry Miller Park. Fireworks begin at dusk, at Gustine High Football field; gates to football field open at 6:30 p.m.

Modesto – 138th Annual Fourth of July Celebration, downtown parade at 10 a.m. on I St., 10th St. Modesto Farmer’s Market open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on I St. between 10th St. and 11th St.

Turlock – Parade down Main St.; opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m., parade at 10 a.m. Fenders and Fireworks Car Show begins at 11:30 a.m. at Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, an all-day event with classic cars, family fun, and live music. Red, White and Boom Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. Admission free, no alcohol, glass bottles, or fireworks allowed; communal barbecues available for picnicking.

Friday, July 6

Livingston – Carnival and talent show, with food, crafts, merchandise, bands, and car show. 3 p.m., Memorial Park.

Saturday, July 7

Livingston – Carnival, Impala car show begins at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park, local bands begin at 6 p.m., “Biggest firework show in the valley” at 9:15 p.m. – 10 p.m., followed by more bands.

Murphys – Independence Day celebration at Ironstone Vineyards. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with food and wine, bounce houses, climbing walls, games, and live music. Approx. 30-minute fireworks show at dark. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for 6- to 12-year-olds, and free for younger children. No outside food or beverages.

Sunday, July 8

Livingston – Sweet Potato Festival, with local bands, carnival, etc., 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Memorial Park.
