Ripon native Brittany Jensen makes a pass for Army during the 2012 U.S. Armed Forces Volleyball Championships in Illinois.

Second Lieutenant Brittany Jensen was selected to compete for the 2012 U.S. Armed Forces volleyball team on June 26 at Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois.

Jensen graduated from West Point as one of Army’s top defensive specialists in the history of the program and was named the Patriot League’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2010. She is a 2007 graduate of Ripon High.

Jensen helped Army place second in the U.S. Armed Forces Championships. Air Force went 6-0 for the title.

Twelve of the best players from Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy were chosen to represent the country in the 33rd Council of International Military Sports World Military Championship July 9-7 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Other countries competing are Canada, Brazil, China, Sri Lanka, Greece, Germany and the Netherlands.

The CISM was founded in 1948 and is one of the largest multidisciplinary organizations in the world. It holds various sporting events for the armed forces of 133 member countries.
