POSTED July 6, 2012 5:47 p.m.

Bette passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 2, due to complications with her kidneys. Bette was born on May 14, 1932 in Alton, Illinois  to Malcolm and Johanna MacDonald and lived in San Jose. Bette graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Paralegal Studies and worked in the legal profession for many years.

Bette is predeceased by her husband Ken, son Ken Jr., and her sister Geraldine Conner. She is survived by her five children, 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Bette was a parishioner of the Manteca Methodist Church, an avid music lover, church volunteer and sang in the choir.

Everyone who knew Mom was touched in some way by her love and courage. We were blessed to have had the opportunity for her to touch our lives and we will miss her more than we can express in words.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on July 13, 2012 at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery located at 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara, CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Stephen's Ministry at St. Paul UMC, 910 East North Street, Manteca, CA 95336. An online guestbook is available at San Jose Mercury  News-Obituaries, for condolences and special messages to the family.
