OAKDALE — Lathrop High’s sophomore girls basktball team is showing signs of improvement and continued its good play Monday in a 47-31 Valley Oak League victory at Oakdale.
Jasmine Elder led the way with 14 points, Krystal Ruiz had 13 and Brittany Rallios finished with eight.
“The girls really played well tonight,” Lathrop coach Ed Fang said. “They concentrated on running our set offense, and we got the shots that we wanted. Our press forced a lot of late turnovers and we were able to convert easy shots.
“The girls are starting to come together.”
The Spartans (2-2 league, 6-8 overall) will look to make it three straight at home against Central Valley Saturday. Tipoff is set for 12:15 p.m.
