Lathrop hosts US census regional convention

LATHROP – The second of 20 regional conventions in the state hosted by the California Census 2010 effort along with the US Census Bureau will be held today at the Lathrop High School gymnasium from 9 a.m. until noon.

The interactive workshop format will involve discussion of ideas and strategies to reach Hard to Count populations for the census in 2010.
Lathrop High School is located at 647 W. Lathrop Road.

Among those expected to attend the Lathrop convention are the following:

Ditas Katague, Director, Census 2010; Jose R. Rodriguez, Director, El Concilio; Mike Burns, Deputy Regional Director, US Census Bureau; Nikki Beasley, Vice President, African American Chamber of Commerce; Sovanna Koeurt, Director, ASPARA; Elena Mangahas, Chairperson, Little Manila Foundation; and John Reynolds, Executive Director, Stockton Shelter for the Homeless.
