The Manteca Futbol Club Alliance Club captured the Davis Legacy Showcase Tournament in Davis recently. The Manteca based club got its weekend off to a good start, posting a 6-1 win over Diablo FC Blue the Crew and then a 6-0 win over Mustang Soccer Velocity.

After a minor setback with a 2-1 loss to American River FC Freedom the Alliance easily advanced to the semifinal round and promptly handled the EGAFC Heat with a 2-0 win.

The victory ushered the Alliance into the championship game and the squad seized the moment, besting the Placer United White 3-1.

The first-place finish kicks off the Alliance year-long season and definitely gives the club reason to be excited about the season after scoring 18-goals in five games. The club is comprised of girls from Manteca, Stockton, Tracy and Modesto.

Alliance standout Marissa Paz was recognized as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after closing the tournament with a hat-trick in the championship win over Placer United White.
