The Jim Brown Memorial Swing for Youth Golf Tournament took place Friday to raise funds for a Youth Scholarship Program made possible through the efforts of the Friends of the Manteca Parks and Recreation Foundation.

The Manteca Recreation Department offers scholarship assistance to those families in need for a multitude of youth and teen related activities including youth sports, swim lessons, arts classes, dance, self-defense and performing arts classes.

The foundation has been in existence since 2007 and has made donations of more than $20,000 to help needy youth. That translates into over 500 youth being able to participate in recreation programs who otherwise would not have had the chance.
