Joseph Salvatore Lima, 89, passed away on June 23, 2009 in Lodi. He was born May 23, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Whether you knew him as Joe, Uncle Joe, or Grandpa, one was always assured of a warm and sincere greeting upon seeing or speaking with him.  Regardless of the pressures or concerns in his life, you could be certain his response to “how are you?” would be “Fine”.  A positive attitude and smile were ever present.  His pleasure and reward in life was derived from his extended family and the many friendships made during his long life.

He was a role model to us all:  exhibiting a strong sense of morality, commitment, and work ethic, always forthright in his business dealing.  He was proud of his service to his country during World War II in the European theatre, a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

We will miss him greatly though take solace in knowing he is now at peace.  His spirit lives on in his children and grandchildren whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years, Providence; his five children: Patricia Stebbins Joseph A. Lima, Anthony A. Lima, Jerry Lima, and Grace Farnese; and grandchildren: Christian Rosenau, Michael Stebbins, Joel Gardner, Tracie Lima, Brian Olson, Amelia Olson, Alcina Lima, Alexis Lima, Jared Lima; and great grandchildren Tyler Stebbins, Travis Stebbins, Natasha Stebbins, Ryan Gardner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
