Terrorist threat charges were levied at a Manteca woman Thursday morning after she allegedly threatened her live-in companion with a kitchen knife outside their Poplar Avenue home about 11 a.m.

Manteca Police said Sherry Harrington, 33, came out of their small apartment at the rear of a fourplex in the 300 block of Poplar Avenue with a kitchen knife in hand first screaming at neighbors.  When her male companion came home she allegedly turned her rage upon him as someone called police.

When officers arrived on the scene they were unable to calm her down and she ignored orders to drop the knife and moved toward them, according to Sergeant Louis Clark.  She reportedly turned and ran yelling back toward her companion still with the knife in hand.  That is when one officer shot her with his taser and she fell to the ground on the sidewalk about 100 feet north of Alameda Street where police confiscated the weapon out of her grasp.

She lay motionless as medics checked her vitals before putting her on a gurney and into an ambulance for a trip to the hospital to be further checked out for her laser barb punctures.  She was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp on felony charges

Her companion said they had only one knife in the apartment and that it was in her possession, adding that he had no idea what set her off.
