• VEHICLE ACCIDENT, WEST LATHROP ROAD, AUG. 7: Manteca Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle into a building on West Lathrop Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found that a vehicle had driven through the plate glass wall of a restaurant. Firefighters immediately assessed the area looking for injuries. Fortunately, the restaurant, which was full just a half hour prior to the accident, had just a few people inside and no injuries were reported. Firefighters evacuated the remaining patrons from the scene over the broken glass and debris. Firefighters then secured the scene so that the vehicle could be removed.

• VEHICLE ACCIDENT, WEST LOUISE AVENUE AT ELM AVENUE, AUG. 5
: Firefighters responded to a vehicle accident with a person trapped on West Louise Avenue and Elm Avenue on Sunday evening. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle into a sound wall with one person trapped. Firefighters extricated the driver from the vehicle using the “Jaws of Life” and provided emergency medical services at the scene.

• FIRE, TIOGA WAY, AUG
. 7: Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on Tioga Way on Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, they met with the homeowner, who stated there had been a stove top fire in the residence, caused by a food box falling onto a burner. Firefighters immediately checked the residence and found moderate fire and smoke damage around the burner that had extended to the overhead microwave range and surrounding area. The appliances were removed and the walls were checked for fire extension including the vent pipe from the roof. The structure’s power was turned off and a City Building Inspector was requested to the scene.
