Bass Pro Shops conducts free Hometown Festival this weekend

Enjoy summer’s grand finale at Bass Pro Shops in Manteca during their Labor Day Hometown Festival.  This fun, free family event occurs Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1-2  from noon to 5 p.m.

Festival activities include product demonstrations and outdoor seminars the whole family can enjoy.  There’s still plenty of summer left to cook out so freshen up your grillin’ techniques and learn all about smokin’ on the grill Saturday at 1p.m. and Sunday. at 3 plml during the “Smokin’ and Grillin’ Techniques” seminar. 

Late summer and early fall are great for fishing so learn some new fishing tips Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. during the “Power vs. Finesse Fishing” seminar.  At 2 and 4 p.m. each day, sit back and enjoy the new fall apparel during the Apparel Fashion Show. See what’s new in clothing and accessories for casual wear, a weekend getaway or a more successful day afield.

Don’t miss the free food sampling featuring tasty Bass Pro Shops Uncle Buck’s food products.  Enjoy samples that could include fried fish, cobblers, pancakes, salsa, jerky and more.  Also, free hot dogs will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. both days.

Kids can enjoy activities such as the Net a Fish Pond Game, Metal Detector Treasure Hunt, try their hand at Casting Buckets or enjoy the Bean Bag Toss.  If they complete all four activities they get a spin at the Prize Wheel (while supplies last.)

Other fun kids’ activities offered Saturday and Sunday include face painting, a leaf craft and coloring pages (while supplies last). Families can also register at the store to win one of three $25 gift cards that will be given away daily.
