Nick and Fran Duren celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 30, 2009 at the home of their daughter, Michele Bergman of Manteca, hosted by their children, Michele Begman of Manteca, Eric Duren of Galt, Kurt Duren of Ripon and Lars Duren of Carlsbad, and their spouses.

Nick Duren and the former Fran Rederer were married on May 29, 1959 in Bakersfield. They have resided in Manteca for 42 years. They have nine grandchildren.

There were 52 guests in attendance and included guests from California, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Nick and Fran were surprised by sister and brother and spouses from Oklahoma and Arkansas. They celebrated their anniversary in Oahu, Hawaii. They are both retired.
