Manteca man arrested on DUI charges after pursuit

Police chased a Manteca man believed to be under the influence of either alcohol or drugs who caused property damage in a resulting hit and run crash after midnight Monday morning.

Raymond William Lloyd Fife, 33, was charged with two felonies and four misdemeanors, according to the Sheriff’s website  when he was booked at the French Camp jail facility.

Fife was also reportedly treated for a bite from a police dog when he ran from officers at the end of the pursuit.

According to the Sheriff’s site, he was also charged with evading police officers with wanton disregard for public safety along with the two DUI counts.

Fife was additionally jailed for the hit and run resulting in property damage and for obstructing police officers as they were attempting to arrest the fleeing motorist.  The actual location of the chase was unavailable at press time from the Manteca Police Department.

He is scheduled to appear in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. to answer the two felony and four misdemeanor charges.
