The Ripon Chiefs varsity had everything clicking for the first time of the young season, blasting the Escalon Outlaws, 48-6.

The Chiefs jumped out with a 32-point first half, sealing the deal early on for the Outlaws.

Thomas Sidtikun used a fake-punt carry to get on the board with a touchdown run, while teammate Aldolfo Sanchez turned in the play of the defense, stealing the football out of an Escalon ball carrier’s hand and racing the distance for a touchdown.

Ripon will try and continue its momentum when they meet up with the Modesto Rams Saturday.

The Chiefs put together an impressive collective effort, but they came up just short against the Outlaws in an 8-6 loss.

Ripon trailed 8-0 entering the second half and found its way to the end zone on a Dylan Sexton strip return for a score. Unfortunately, that would be the Chiefs’ only trip into the end zone.

Ripon tried to answer its final call in the waning moments of the contest, but a late touchdown reception was called back on a penalty and the Chiefs’ final attempt would come up empty.

The Chiefs were able to hang tough with the Outlaws, but they would still fall to Escalon by a touchdown in an overtime loss.

Ripon finished regulation tied 14-14 with Escalon, but after several unsuccessful attempts to score in the overtime period, the Chiefs would eventually fall.

The Chiefs finally were able to pull away from Escalon in a tough back-and-forth struggle.
