Knights battle Hughson to draw

Ripon Christian trailed  visiting Hughson 1-0 at the half and fought back with a second-half goal to force a 1-1 non-league tie with the Huskies Thursday.

The Knights (2-0-1) got their lone goal from David Yu, who made good on a free kick after being tackled from behind by a Hughson defender. After tying things up in the 46th minute, both teams would go scoreless the remainder of the way.

Ripon Christian got solid play from keeper Brayden Van Vuren, recording five saves and completing a second half shutout to keep the Knights in it.

The Knights will try and add another win to the win column Saturday when they host Bradshaw Christian in a nonleague matchup.

Delhi 4, Ripon 0

The Indians (2-4) saw themselves fall back 3-0 by the intermission and could not respond, falling to Delhi in a shutout Thursday.

Delhi improved to 3-1, recording its third consecutive victory.

Ripon will try and get back on the right track Saturday when it kicks off play in the Ripon Christian Soccer Classic.

McNair 1, Weston Ranch 0

The Cougars were unable to answer a first-half McNair goal and things remained scoreless the rest of the way in a nonleague loss Thursday.
