Alfred and Jo Ann Talavera celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 4, 2009. A party was hosted by their children and held at the home of their son Carlos Talavera of Manteca.

Alfred Talavera and the former Jo Ann McCoy were married on July 31, 1954 in Sumter, South Carolina. They have lived in Manteca for nine years.

Their children are Michael Talavera, Sandra Salinas, and Debra Reyes all of San Jose, Eric Talavera of Oakdale, Coralia Rodriguez of Lathrop, and Carlos Talavera of Manteca. They have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The color theme for the party was red, white, and blue. Out of town guests were Alfred’s brother, Jose Talavera and his wife Patricia of Sun City and niece Carmen Talavera of Long Beach.

Alfred and Jo Ann are now retired.
