Detectives investigating death of 6-month-old infant

Manteca Police detectives were investigating the death of a six-month-old infant Monday morning in the 1700 block of Topiary Drive.

First responders rushed to the scene shortly after 6 a.m. when a caller said the child was unresponsive.  The infant was transported to Doctors Hospital of Manteca where the child was pronounced dead.  It was unknown whether the baby was a boy or a girl.

While officers have been assigned to seek out the cause of the death, there has been no further information released as of press time Monday evening.
