• PROBATION SEARCH: On Sept. 6, Manteca Police Detective Johnson and Sergeant Mraz were in the area of 300 West Alameda Street when they observed Jesse Ayraud leaning into a vehicle parked in the area of 300 West Alameda Street. Detective Johnson and Sergeant Mraz had prior knowledge that Ayraud is on parole for a stolen vehicle conviction. Detective Johnson shined his flashlight at Ayraud and ordered him to stop. Ayraud immediately turned and started walking away at a brisk pace and went inside 315 W. Alameda St. A perimeter was set up around the residence. Ayraud exited the back door of the residence a couple of minutes later and was taken into custody without incident. This residence of an active parolee on searchable probation can be searched. Due to Ayraud’s search condition, the residence was entered to conduct a search for any contraband Ayraud might have discarded. No force was used to enter the residence and all of the occupants were compliant. During a search of the residence, two methamphetamine pipes were located. One of the pipes was loaded with methamphetamine in it. James Newman was contacted in the residence during the search. Newman is a documented gang member and has a probation condition barring him from associating with gang members. Ayraud is also a documented gang member. Newman was taken into custody for violating the court order. Arrested were Jesse Ayraud for Resisting or Delaying a Peace Officer, and James Newman for Violation of a Court Order.

• POSSIBLE SEXUAL ASSAULT
: On Sept. 12, Officer Chiek and Officer Machado were dispatched to Fire Station No. 2 on South Union Road for a report of an adult female seeking help and being chased by a subject with a firearm. As the female was being assessed by Fire personnel, she stated she had been sexually assaulted by the suspect who was chasing her. Officer Chiek located the subject riding his bicycle northbound on South Union Road in front of the fire station. The female identified the subject as the sexual assault suspect, and he was placed under arrest. Arrested was Steven Jay Adolf. He was transported to San Joaquin County Jail and booked on rape charges.
