A 22.7-mile pursuit with speeds reaching up to 95 miles per Sunday ended on Guthmiller Road.

The incident started in Stockton on southbound Highway 99 at Waterloo Road. San Joaquin County Sheriff Deputies ran a check on the plates of a black Honda in front of them. The plate came back as having been stolen out of Stockton. The deputies activated their emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle took off instead at 80 mph.

They passed the Cross-town Freeway exit at 90 mph and reached 95 mph as they passed the Charter Way and Farmington exits.

The pursuit reached Guthmiller Road just west of Manteca and south of Lathrop. That’s where the driver attempted to go up the off ramp to reach the 120 Bypass eastbound lanes. He could not make the turn and the vehicle ended up driving into a field.

The driver and two passengers fled on foot but were apprehended by deputies with help from the CHP.

Arrested on auto theft related charges were Ricky Dominique Anicas, 24; Christopher Cromwell, 27; and Davoy Dolores Sigala, 34, All three were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
