The Manteca Unified Student Trust announced its 2009 scholarship winners on Friday. The recipients were recent graduates from the district’s secondary sites – Manteca High, East Union, Sierra, Weston Ranch and Lindbergh schools.  Students were required to maintain a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and contributed at least 100 hours of community service within the past four years.

The winners of the second-ever MUST scholarships are East Union’s Chelsea Cochran ($500); Sukhpreet Kaur of Weston Ranch ($500); Tonya Mauldin of Lindbergh School ($350); Charleigh Nygaard of Manteca High ($500); and Rebecca Paige Whitlock of Sierra ($500).

The MUST Foundation supports and promotes the healthy, life-long learning of students in the Manteca Unified School District. MUST is a non-profit foundation that raises funds to provide student programs for scholarships, science and art, elementary school sports and agriculture.
